April 18, 2010 - On a cold and windy Sunday morning the
Metro Amateur Radio Club met atop the largest hill we could find near Chicago. The site use to be a garbage dump and now is home to Willow Hill Golf Club.
They were nice enough to let us hams set up a few antennas and tables for the day.
We made contacts on several bands, both near and far. Dx contacts included Mexico and Norway,
This is the view of Chicago from high a top the hill. We figured we were between 80 and 100 feet high. Wow!
On the right is MARC president Steve Little KC9MWW. The solar panels were our only source of power.
A couple of club members hooking up their rig.
Cold but fun.
